Go ahead and try the minimum and maximum values on Dubai and you'll see for yourself. Higher values here will provide more front end grip in general, but will also make the karts more sensitive to steering inputs and generally less stable despite what the game says. At the same time, it should decrease the time to get to full steering lock.Ĭaster angle: This is an important adjustment on the karts. This should help lessen the delay between when you start to turn and when it actually starts to happen. Steering Ratio: Karts have ridiculously low steering ratios in real life, so it's only fitting that I put this to the minimum on my setup. If you're new to karting in the game, starting with this setting around 60% might make for a less sensitive kart.

That also means more rear grip throughout the corner and more grip for accelerating. With that in mind, higher percentages mean more understeer, but potentially more snap oversteer if your front end regains grip suddenly.

Higher percentages here have more of the weight toward the rear of the kart. Longitudinal Weight Bias: Where the weight of the kart is. On kart tracks its helpful to have the brakes help you pivot the kart into the turn, whereas on a full length track the speeds will be much higher and turns far less tight. On kart tracks I would have it somewhere near 50% and on full tracks I would opt for more stability, so set it a bit higher, maybe 60%. That isn't really how it works in real life, but Project Cars has a ridiculous emphasis on friction heating for tires lower pressure is higher friction, higher temperatures.īrake Pressure: You might adjust this if you weren't using ABS, but I generally don't think this setting matters much.īrake Balance: Higher percentage values here provide more stability under braking. The rears on the karts get hotter than the fronts (at least with this setup and at kart tracks) so I brought down the pressure of the fronts. Tire pressure: This is generally used to bring temperature equality between all tires. Putting it all together at Dubai Kartdrome in 51.479 seconds: I'll start by giving you my setup for Dubai Kartdrome, show you my best lap with it, and tell you a bit about how I came to that setup and why it works (for my driving style).įinal Drive: 6.80, 1st: 2.53, 2nd: 1.81, 3rd: 1.50, 4th: 1.22, 5th: 1.04, 6th: 0.92 Maybe even quickly :) Quick note that I am using a controller and playing on PS4. I'm going to help you tame this beast though, and talk about setting it up so you can actually drive it. It feels nothing like a real kart with its stock setup and can be really frustrating to drive. The 125cc kart in project cars is a bit of a weird machine.
